Ιota is an exciting band on a mission to deliver a unique and creative new sound. After finding each other in 2016, they decided tο embark on this musical journey, tempered by a mixture of influences. They incorporated visuals into their shows and added new elements to their music, inspired by the sounds of trip hop and nujazz. At the end of 2017, they released their first video titled “Work”, quickly followed by the digital release of their critically acclaimed debut album “Part of Something”. Ikaros Records released the album on vinyl later that year. The album featured trumpet player Andreas Polyzogopoulos. It was tagged “stone throw meets ninjatune”, as the band paid their tributes to these legendary record labels and was well received by both their followers and critics. Moreover, iota filmed a 360° live video of their performance at “DUDU LOFT”. Excitingly, the debut album has also been remixed by producers such as “RSN”, “MAGNIFICENT CITY” and many more.
They have played in numerous music stages in Greece and regularly play live shows in the club circuit, often featuring the ney-flute virtuoso Nikos Paraoulakis, who is going to be featured in iota's next album along with the sensational Andreas Polyzogopoulos on trumpet. iota have shared the stage with Mc Yinca, Theodore, Gravitysays_i. Dj Booker, Dirty Droppers, JumpingJudas, The Ephemerals, Kooba Tercu, Duoyu, Fuku Cosmonaut and other artists. The second studio effort of iota is a hip hop, electronica, soul, freejazz, post bop album, featuring Mc Yinka on vocals, Ioannis Chatziioannou on keys, Andreas Polyzogopoulos on trumpet and Nikos Paraoulakis on ney-flute.
